Golf Mk4 V6 cruise control retrofit for a returning customer after 10 years
We haven’t seen a Golf Mk4 in the workshop for ages, so it was a real pleasure to welcome this V6 model back in! It came in for a Golf Mk4 cruise control retrofit, a neat upgrade that adds long-distance driving comfort and control.
What made it even better? The owner hadn’t been here for over a decade — and they still remembered where the coffee machine was. Always a pleasure when someone makes the journey back to us after so long, especially for something as satisfying as this Golf Mk4 cruise control retrofit.
What We Did
To carry out the retrofit correctly, we followed the OEM procedure, removing interior trim pieces and the steering column cowl to fit the cruise stalk neatly. Wiring was routed along factory paths using existing grommets and secured with Tesa tape to maintain that original look and feel. We then used VCDS and ODIS to code and adapt the ECU for cruise operation, completing the job with a drive test to confirm smooth activation and deactivation under load.
