The VW T6.1 heated steering wheel was fully stripped, retrimmed, and rebuilt using OEM-grade materials. Nathan wanted something that felt premium without screaming aftermarket—and we delivered. The Alcantara grips offer a soft-touch feel, while the perforated leather on the upper and lower sections adds durability and grip.
OEM Finish, Custom Feel
We’re proud of how OEM this one looks. The green stitching flows seamlessly across the rim, perfectly aligned with the Bay Leaf Green bodywork. We even colour-matched the stitching using code-specific thread to ensure the finish was production-line perfect. You’d be forgiven for thinking this came factory-fitted.
Heated Functionality Built In
This isn’t just about good looks—the heated function is fully integrated. Controlled directly via the infotainment menu, the retrofit uses no external switches or aftermarket buttons. It’s a clean setup that feels natural to use. And yes, it’s been fully coded with the right adaptations to the CANBUS system, so no warning lights, no errors—just warmth at your fingertips.
VAG Retrofit, Done Right
As with all our vag retrofits, this one involved a full diagnostic check before and after install. We coded the wheel to ensure full compatibility with the Transporter’s control modules. From firmware alignment to button mapping, every detail counts when you want a seamless finish. That’s why we always test post-install to make sure everything—from cruise control to volume toggles—works exactly as it should.
