MAN TGE Camera Lighting Retrofit With Wolfbox And Lazerlamps
MAN TGE Camera and Lighting Upgrade With Wolfbox Mirror and Lazerlamps
When you rely on your van every day, reversing and visibility upgrades shouldn’t feel like a “universal kit” guess—and this MAN TGE camera lighting retrofit proves it with a Wolfbox reverse camera and dash cam integrated into a mirror setup, plus Lazerlamps LEDs and reversing lights, all installed for a clean, fully working finish.
Most of the parts were supplied by the customer, and we handled the full installation end-to-end, including the custom touches that make it feel right in the cab. Ever fitted good kit only to have it look messy or work “most of the time”? This one was all about neat integration and reliable operation.
What was installed
This MAN TGE came in for a practical upgrade package focused on better sight lines and better light where it matters. Rather than mixing random switches and bolt-on brackets, the goal was to keep everything tidy, easy to use, and as close to an OEM look as possible.
The build included a Wolfbox reverse camera and dash cam integrated into a mirror setup, bonnet-mounted Lazerlamps LED lights for added visibility, and Lazerlamps reversing lights fitted into custom-made panels. To tie it all together, we added custom dashboard switches designed to match the factory style.
Plan and integration
- Wolfbox mirror setup: reverse camera feed and dash cam integrated into the mirror for an uncluttered view
- Bonnet-mounted Lazerlamps LEDs: mounted for improved forward visibility in low light
- Lazerlamps reversing lights: installed into custom-made panels for a clean rear finish
- OEM-style switching: custom dashboard switches designed to blend in with the original interior
- Customer-supplied parts: customer provided most components; we completed the installation and integration
Because lighting and camera upgrades often involve trim removal and routing, we focused on secure mounting, sensible cable paths, and a finish that doesn’t rattle or snag later. That’s the difference between “fitted” and “properly integrated.”
Install and sign-off
- Reviewed the customer-supplied parts and agreed the layout for the mirror, bonnet lights, reversing lights, and switch locations.
- Installed the Wolfbox mirror unit and integrated the reverse camera and dash cam so the display and controls sit naturally in the driver’s view.
- Mounted the Lazerlamps LED lights on the bonnet and secured the wiring so it’s protected and routed neatly.
- Built and fitted custom panels for the Lazerlamps reversing lights, then installed and aligned the lamps for practical rear coverage.
- Fitted custom dashboard switches designed to match the OEM look, then connected them so operation is simple and consistent.
- Completed final checks and a tidy-up so the install looks as clean as it performs.
What we verified: the mirror display powers up correctly, the reverse camera image appears when reversing, the dash cam records as expected, the bonnet-mounted LEDs operate correctly, the reversing lights illuminate properly, and each dashboard switch controls the intended function.
FAQ
Q: Can you fit customer-supplied parts to a MAN TGE?
A: Yes—on this job the customer supplied most of the parts, and we carried out the full installation and integration.
Q: Is a mirror-integrated reverse camera better than a separate screen?
A: For many drivers, yes. A mirror setup keeps the display in a natural line of sight and avoids extra screens on the dash.
Q: Do reversing lights need custom panels?
A: Not always, but custom panels can give a cleaner finish and a more secure, purpose-built mounting point—exactly what we did here.
Q: Will the switches look aftermarket?
A: The switches on this van were custom made to match the OEM look, so the cabin stays clean and consistent.
Q: What should I send when asking for a quote?
A: Send your van details, a list of the parts you already have (with photos if possible), and what you want each switch to control.
Although this was a specific customer build, we regularly book in upgrades for people traveling over for camera, lighting, and switch integration work; for example, customers often come in from Redditch for retrofit installs, as well as Birmingham, London, Leeds, Manchester, and Edinburgh for bigger wiring and accessory fitment.
If you’ve already got parts on the shelf and want them installed properly, message us and we’ll talk through your setup; Redditch is a common starting point for bookings, and we also arrange MAN TGE upgrade work for drivers coming in from Leicester, Coventry, Birmingham, London, and Manchester. This is exactly the kind of MAN TGE camera lighting retrofit that benefits from a tidy plan and a clean finish.
