Seat Ibiza parking aid front and rear with OPS retrofit package
This Seat Ibiza had OE Front and rear parking sensors retrofitted.
These only have 3 sensors on the rear bumper with 4 fitted to the front (2 in the centre grille and 2 on the bumper corners)
An OE parking aid button was also wired in and fitted in the factory location along with wiring in the whole system and coding it all as per factory. How great is that!

OE Parking Sensors Retrofit
01. Preparation
Well, we’ve done many similar parking sensors installation projects in Nuneaton before, So the Seat Ibiza parking sensors retrofit project was nothing new to us, All we had to do was make sure we had the right number of sensors painted and all the vehicle wiring and coding information in hand.
02. The retrofit
We started off by removing both the bumper and all the interior trims that needed to be removed to allow us to run the new wiring harness for the rear sensors alongside the OE wring harness from the rear bumper area all the way to the front of the vehicle. For the front sensors we again followed the OE wiring route, the hardest part with this was gaining access through the front bulkhead.
Once we’d completed this we were able to get everything connected up to the new OE Parking aid module. All connections made followed how it would be done from factory including; The Parking aid module &PDC button
The final step was to make the necessary software/programming changes to allow the vehicle to control the operation of the freshly fitted Seat Ibiza front and rear optical parking sensors with engagement via reverse gear selection & via the PDC button.
The time needed to fit the above system was around 6 hours and all work was carried out at our Workshop in Nuneaton (Just outside of Coventry)
03. Results
The final product is a retrofit that works exactly as it would if it was fitted from factory and that is going to perform well for the foreseeable future.
Both Front and rear parking sensors activate with reverse gear engagement and do benefit from the Auto activation feature should they see an obstacle. The Automatic parking sensors deactivation feature also turns the system off as soon as speed of 6mph is reached, For additional comfort the newly installed OEM parking sensors PDC on/off button can be used to override the default activation/deactivation procedure.
